Square Knots Stretching to Infinity
This print depicts a fractal link design. Each strand has four lobes and connects to other strands via square knots. Three colors are required to avoid knotted strands having the same color. The design was created by decorating the individual tiles in a fractal tiling with knot-like graphics. "Square Knots Stretching to Infinity" is a limited edition of 50 digital prints created in 2007. The image size is 14" x 14".
This fractal tiling was the starting point for the design, with each tile decorated using the knot graphic shown at right, For this design, every other tile is mirrored.
